Job Purpose

The key purpose of this role is to coordinate, train, coach, and control activities within the Engineering and Facilities (E&F) section, both in production and maintenance environments. The successful candidate will provide specialist technical support to ensure maximum equipment availability and operational efficiency through the application of VPO principles and best maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a Safe and Healthy Working Environment

• Develop and periodically review risk assessments including HIRA, PHA, and JHA.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements during equipment operation through SOPs and Safe Work Instructions.
• Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and workplace organization.

Ensure Plant Reliability and Equipment Performance

• Locate and manage plant equipment, spare parts, documentation, and maintenance systems.
• Plan, prepare, and execute maintenance activities.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Develop maintenance programs for new equipment and review existing maintenance schedules.
• Continuously improve and optimize plant equipment, systems, and processes.
• Operate plant and process equipment as required.
• Calibrate instruments and ensure accuracy of measurements.
• Support automation and process control improvements.

Teamwork and Communication

• Communicate effectively within teams and across departments.
• Contribute to personal and team development initiatives.
• Generate and implement innovative ideas to improve operational performance.

Apply VPO Principles and Practices

• Ensure all work is executed in accordance with VPO standards and methodologies.

• Maintain and improve established standards and processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 2–3 years of hands-on mechanical or electrical maintenance experience with strong workshop knowledge.
• Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Knowledge of Control and Automation systems will be an added advantage.
