Mubende District Service Commission

Job Summary

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the vacant Driver position within Mubende District Local Government and Mubende Municipal Council. The role involves supporting official transportation needs within the district public service.

Key Responsibilities

(Typical duties for a government Driver role)

  • Drive official government vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Transport staff, officials, and materials as assigned.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of assigned vehicles.
  • Carry out routine vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and trip records.
  • Ensure compliance with road safety regulations and traffic laws.
  • Perform basic vehicle servicing checks (fuel, oil, tyres, water).
  • Support administrative errands and official duties as required.

Requirements

Education

  • Minimum of High School education.

Experience

  • At least 12 months of relevant driving experience.

Other Requirements

  • Valid driving permit (appropriate class for government vehicles).
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain professionalism.
  • Knowledge of road safety regulations.
